Vitallo Kontorline

Passion in Business.

The Vitallo Kontorline unites more than 75 years of expertise in masterful shoemaking and the passion of three generations. It impresses not only with its classic design language, which we reinterpret through expressive, unmistakable models, but also with subtle innovations that reveal themselves only when worn – and quickly become indispensable.

Our unique Vitallo TroisCoutures construction stands for unmatched craftsmanship and ensures comfort in motion and timeless elegance in every situation. Each model in the Kontorline is bespoke. With hand-selected leathers, the finest materials, and its heart – an interior made from breathable Climatocork – we create a wearing experience like no other.

Hand-Sewn Craftsmanship

DoubleFlex
Bespoke, classically styled men’s shoes and a traditionally welted sole construction are inseparable. With our proprietary DoubleFlex construction, we reinterpret this principle in our own way: on every Kontorline model, the upper, welt and midsole are joined by two hand-sewn rows of stitching.
Contemporary demands – such as high flexibility and low weight – are no challenge for our DoubleFlex construction, but part of its very concept. In other words: because we craft our Vitallo Kontorline the way we do, each model offers an exceptionally short break-in phase and outstanding wearing comfort from the very first step.

TroisCoutures
Our passion for craftsmanship does not end with the classic double-stitched welt. That’s why we created a construction that perfects our standards of comfort, elegance and precision – and marks the pinnacle of artisanal shoemaking. It combines the timeless aesthetic of traditionally welted shoes with the comfort and flexibility of a casual shoe.
On every pair, welt, upper, midsole and outsole are joined using three individual, consecutive hand-sewn seams. Up to 270 stitches are required per pair – each one placed perfectly by hand. This pioneering innovation therefore bears a distinctive name: Vitallo TroisCoutures – the triple-stitch construction.

Classic or Contemporary

Kontorline Last Shapes

Classico
Our Kontorline models are available in two distinct base last shapes. These define the characteristic silhouette of each shoe. Based on these shapes and the customer’s individual measurements, a personalized last is created and used in the manufacturing process. Our Classico shape is distinguished by its harmonious lines and comfort-oriented design. It features a classically rounded front section with slightly more volume in the forefoot area – offering increased freedom of movement for the toes.

Milano
The Milano shape impresses with its sleek appearance and finely balanced proportions. The elongated front section flows into a slightly narrower toe shape, while a subtle break line runs from the tip to the ball of the foot. This design element gives the finished shoe its elegant, slim appearance – and creates striking reflections on the leather surface, which are brought out even more beautifully by the final hand polish.

Finest Craftsmanship

Wood-pegged Heel
The heel plays a key role in both the look and the comfort of a shoe. Its height determines whether a shoe remains comfortable even after long hours of wear. For us, nothing compares to traditional construction: The heel is built from multiple layers of full-grain leather, fixed to the sole with two rows of wooden pegs and pinned by hand. Only this elaborate method ensures the level of quality and durability that meets our standards.

Leather Outsole
The leather outsole has long been a hallmark of fine shoemaking. For our Kontorline models, we use carefully selected premium outsole leather, tanned using the traditional pit tanning method. A discreet rubber intarsia is added for refinement. The detail that makes the difference: While the rubber intarsia ensures exceptional grip and wearing comfort, all the eye sees – from above and from the side – is the elegant leather sole.

Hand-Finished Edges
The final step in the process is the edge finish – the artisanal refinement of sole and heel. Using a shard of glass, the side surfaces of the sole and heel are first carefully trimmed and smoothed by hand.
