Sustainability
Out of Respect for Our Environment
One of our key goals is to manufacture sustainable and environmentally friendly products – starting with the selection of innovative, eco-conscious raw materials, continuing through the production process, and extending to the recycling of material remnants. Whenever possible, we strive to source materials from within Germany or Europe – not only to support local suppliers, but also to ensure short transport routes. This is a factor that also contributes to the excellent environmental footprint of our shoes. In addition to origin, we also value the ecological and socially responsible production of our materials. The nappa upper leather and lining leather we use as standard are all manufactured in Germany – in compliance with the highest standards for working conditions, wastewater management, and environmental protection.
The tanning agents required to produce these exceptional leathers are derived from the bark and fruits of various tree species. Using these renewable raw materials helps to conserve natural resources – and results in a unique product that is exceptionally skin-friendly and offers outstanding wearing comfort. When it comes to synthetics, we also rely on eco-friendly alternatives. One example is the use of Cradle to Cradle-certified functional textiles in our VitalloFlex Pro Series golf models. We also return leftover materials from sole production into a dedicated recycling process. For this purpose, we work with a local environmental company that transforms these valuable resources into products such as acoustic insulation panels.
