FAQ

Runnertune
What does the term "heel-to-toe drop" mean in running shoes?

The heel-to-toe drop refers to the difference in height between the heel and the forefoot – measured in millimeters. The greater the drop, the higher the heel sits in relation to the forefoot inside the shoe. Conversely, the lower the drop, the flatter the foot sits in the shoe.

What is the heel-to-toe drop in Runnertune running shoes?

The heel-to-toe drop in our Runnertune running shoes is 9 mm. Based on our many years of practical experience, this value has proven to be the ideal balance between a natural running feel and optimal cushioning performance.

How do Runnertune running shoes fit?

Since there is no universally standardized sizing across brands, shoes from different manufacturers can vary significantly in fit – even when labeled with the same size.
That’s why we don’t rely on general size specifications but instead use our specialized Measuring Kit. It allows us to determine the best-fitting size for your new Runnertune running shoes – based on your individual foot impression.
As an initial reference, please select the size you normally wear in other running shoes. Our sizing is based on the European standard system; corresponding US sizes are listed for your convenience.

How is the size determined for Runnertune running shoes?

The size you select during checkout serves as an initial reference for us. The exact sizing is determined based on your foot impression, created using the Measuring Kit. We explain the process in detail here.

Why is the delivered size different from the one I originally ordered?

The shoe size you specify during the ordering process serves merely as an initial reference. The actual size we send is based on the evaluation of your detailed foot impression, which we receive through the Measuring Kit.
Our goal is to determine the best possible size for your feet – regardless of the number printed on the shoe. Variations from the originally ordered size are therefore normal and often necessary to ensure optimal comfort.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact us by email or via our contact form.

How should I clean my Runnertune running shoes?

It’s best to dry-clean your shoes using a soft brush. This allows you to remove dirt and dust from the surface quickly and gently.

Can I wash Runnertune running shoes in the washing machine?

No. Please do not wash your Runnertune running shoes in the washing machine.

If my Runnertune running shoes got soaked in the rain, how should I dry them?

To dry, remove the Climatocork iD footbed from the shoe and place the shoe and footbed in a well-ventilated room at a comfortable room temperature. Never dry either one directly near a heater or radiator – high temperatures can cause the material to shrink and lose its elasticity.
Gently stuff the shoe with absorbent, unprinted paper towels to help it retain its shape. Be careful not to create any dents or deformations.
Check the paper regularly to see if it is still damp, and replace it if necessary.

How should I care for my Runnertune running shoes?

Store your Runnertune running shoes in a well-ventilated place at normal room temperature, and allow them to air out for 24 hours after each wear. We also recommend treating them periodically with a high-quality waterproofing spray for synthetics – this helps protect them more effectively in wet conditions.

Can I order a replacement Climatocork iD footbed?

The Climatocork iD footbed is removable and can be replaced at any time. For hygienic reasons, we recommend replacing it about once a year.
Because there are several variants, reordering is not handled directly through the online shop. If you would like to request a new Climatocork iD footbed, feel free to contact us – or visit our Climatocork page, where you’ll find more information and the option to send an inquiry.

Can the Climatocork iD footbed be washed in the washing machine?

No. While the Climatocork iD footbed is designed to absorb moisture exceptionally well, it is not suitable for machine washing.

I wear orthopedic insoles. Can I use them in Runnertune running shoes?

Runnertune running shoes come standard with an anatomically shaped Climatocork iD footbed, which not only supports the foot but also provides a particularly comfortable in-shoe climate. The footbed is designed to adapt to the shape of the wearer’s foot after a short break-in period, offering targeted support.
We have seen excellent results with our Climatocork iD footbed in cases of common foot conditions such as overpronation or fallen arches. If needed, we can also customize it to precisely match the shape of your feet. Learn more here.

What should I do if the soles are worn out?

Runnertune running shoes can be resoled. In this process, the outsole and midsole are removed and replaced with a new complete sole unit. At the same time, the shoe is reconditioned on its original last and refreshed in shape. The resoling process typically takes about three weeks.
If needed, feel free to contact us – the corresponding contact form is available here in our repair service section.

How long does it take to manufacture a pair of Runnertune running shoes?

Production time is approx. 3 weeks, starting from the day we receive your Measuring Kit. Shipping time is additional and depends on the destination country.

How long do Runnertune running shoes last?

That depends on many individual factors – such as running style, body weight, surface conditions, or the distance covered. For this reason, it’s not possible to give a general lifespan.
