This fitting process allows the Climatocork footbed to be adjusted precisely to the needs of your feet. In our bespoke Vitallo shoes, this service is always included. For the ready-to-wear models from VitalloFlex and Runnertune, we offer this individualization as an optional upgrade.

To experience the benefits of a customized footbed, you don’t necessarily have to visit our manufacture in Hilpoltstein, Germany. In addition to the on-site Master Fitting, we also offer the Premium Fitting by post – allowing you to enjoy an individualized fit, no matter where you are.

High Stress Levels
The legs and feet of runners are exposed to considerable strain. While running, the joints can be subjected to forces up to two or three times the runner’s body weight. Many athletes also exhibit foot misalignments such as flat feet with overpronation, which can negatively affect leg alignment – particularly in the knee joint. The result may be overuse-related issues, such as knee pain.
Correction and Power Transfer
This is where our fitted Climatocork footbed comes in: It provides targeted support exactly where the foot needs it, corrects misalignments, and improves the alignment of the leg axis. But to ensure maximum performance, a precise fit between footbed and shoe is just as essential. Only a footbed that’s perfectly adapted to the shoe enables seamless power transfer from foot to ground.

Natural High-Tech Material
Choosing cork as the base for our footbeds was no coincidence – its exceptional technical properties make it the ideal material. Its low density makes cork extremely lightweight, and its flexible cell structure gives it both elasticity and high resilience. This results in excellent cushioning and a uniquely comfortable feel. Cork also boasts impressive thermal properties, helping maintain a pleasant climate inside the shoe – whether in hot or cold conditions.
By nature, however, cork is nearly waterproof. Through years of development, we’ve designed Climatocork to deliver strong moisture absorption. The footbed is finished with an unbonded top layer that allows moisture from the foot to pass directly into the open-pored cork base – keeping your feet noticeably drier inside the shoe.
Innovative Process
To ensure that the functionality and comfort of Climatocork are preserved even in customized solutions, we’ve developed special manufacturing techniques for our Perfect Fit Technology. Corrections and targeted support zones are integrated in such a way that the breathability between the top layer and cork base remains fully intact – allowing the Climatocork layer to continuously absorb moisture without restriction.
For the fitted Climatocork footbeds to be effective exactly where support is needed, they must be precisely integrated into the shoes in which they will be used. This process is also carried out by hand – with meticulous attention to detail. Only when foot, footbed, and shoe form a perfect unit can the system deliver its full effect.
