FAQ

Vitallo
Can I have Vitallo bespoke shoes or accessories made in other designs or based on my own template?

No. Vitallo stands for a distinctive design language – classic and minimalist. Clean lines and masterful craftsmanship define our shoes and accessories. For this reason, we produce exclusively our own models, which we have continuously refined and perfected over the years. We do not manufacture custom designs based on external templates.

How long does it take to make a Vitallo bespoke shoe?

The actual production time for a Vitallo bespoke shoe is easily 40 hours or more. In addition, there are resting phases during which the upper conforms to the last – and the longer the shoe remains on the last, the better the final result.
The standard lead time for a Vitallo bespoke shoe is approx. 12 weeks – also due to these resting phases – depending on the model, configuration, and the current workload of our manufacture.

Are Vitallo bespoke shoes made with orthopedic features?

It is important to distinguish between a classic bespoke shoe and an orthopedic shoe. A classic bespoke shoe aims to create an aesthetically refined piece, individually crafted for its wearer and offering a perfect fit – that is what our Vitallo models stand for. Naturally, the individual anatomical features of the customer’s feet are taken into account, as no two feet are alike – even the left and right foot are usually not perfect mirror images. These differences, however, fall within a normal range.
An orthopedic shoe, on the other hand, is designed to address significant foot deformities or functional impairments that must be corrected, supported, or cushioned. In this case, medical functionality takes precedence over aesthetics.

Are Vitallo bespoke shoes covered by insurance or available by prescription?

No. Vitallo shoes are classic bespoke shoes and do not qualify as orthopedic medical devices. They are therefore not reimbursable through health insurance.

Why can’t I order Vitallo shoes online using the Measuring Kit?

Vitallo bespoke shoes are crafted individually based on numerous parameters. It’s not just about foot length or width – various measurements determine the configuration and shaping of the last on which the shoe is built. These measurements can only be determined during a personal appointment at our manufacture in Hilpoltstein, Germany.

Is a trial fitting necessary?

This depends on the selected model and is not always strictly required. Whether a trial fitting is recommended will be discussed during your personal bespoke appointment.

Can I reorder Vitallo bespoke shoes without a new bespoke appointment in Hilpoltstein?

If it’s the same or a similar model, reordering is usually possible without a new bespoke appointment. However, for a completely different model, we recommend scheduling another visit to our manufacture in Hilpoltstein, Germany.

How long do Vitallo bespoke shoes and accessories last?

A bespoke Vitallo shoe or accessory from our manufacture is designed for long-term durability – and can last for many years with proper care. High-quality materials, meticulous craftsmanship, and the option of professional repairs make each piece a long-lasting companion that develops unique character over time.
However, actual longevity depends on many individual factors – especially in the case of shoes. These include anatomical aspects such as the wearer’s weight or gait. In addition, wearing habits, frequency of use, care routines, regular servicing, and the specific purpose of use all influence wear over time.

Do you offer gift vouchers for Vitallo shoes and accessories?

Yes, we offer high-quality gift vouchers. The value is freely selectable, starting at a minimum of €100. Feel free to contact us if you're interested – we’d be happy to assist you personally.
